In the beginning, only the toughest, bravest and most determined cavers could make it to this point in the UCG Home Cave. The sweat and blood of those hardcore trailblazers makes it possible for you to visit here today more easily and has earned them the title of "Hodag." Have you ever wondered what thoughts ran through their minds as they gazed across these beautiful passages and realized they were seeing wonders no other eyes had ever seen? If so, the entries below, taken from old cave registers and their personal journals, should at least give you an idea of what they were thinking when they reached this point in the UCG Home Cave.

Loved the search for the register. . . like looking for an obscure entrance to a cave you've never been to or trying to find a connection in an unfamiliar cave. |

Oh, it's no use! No one is ever going to find me down here! |

Olimpus |
